ITIDA and NTI Recognize Outstanding Students in Egypt’s Largest ICT Training Initiative

 The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and the National

Telecommunications Institute (NTI) have honored 100 top-performing university students

as part of the first phase of Egypt’s largest summer training program in digital skills development

This initiative, launched in June 2025, aims to equip 10,000 students across all governorates with future

ready ICT skills, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and software development

Empowering Egypt’s Youth with Digital and Freelancing Skills

The summer training program is part of Egypt’s broader digital transformation strategy

led by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) Designed to build

digital capabilities and bridge the digital skills gap, the program provides a blended learning model

that includes both technical training and soft skills development, such as freelancing and personal branding

Speaking at the ceremony, Eng Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of ITIDA, praised the students’ achievements, stating

strong digital footprint locally and internationally He emphasized the importance of investing in human

capital as a driver for economic growth and noted that global tech companies are increasingly drawn to

Egypt due to its expanding digital talent pool El-Zaher highlighted the inclusive nature of the program

which provides access to students from various academic backgrounds and governorates, through both

Flexible Learning and International Certification Opportunities

ITIDA Dr Ahmed Khattab, Director of NTI, explained that the program offers flexible learning paths

allowing students to either specialize in one technical domain or gain multi-disciplinary exposure

More than 1,400 students earned international badges from NVIDIA’s Deep Learning

Institute after completing the “Getting Started with Deep Learning” course an initiative that

aligns with Egypt’s push toward AI readiness

Industry Exposure and Real-World Skill Development

ITIDA The event also included recognition of students who obtained Huawei’s HCCDA-Tech Essentials

certification in cloud computing fundamentals, and featured a Smart Village tour Students visited

companies like VOIS, BrightSkies, and SITECH Solutions, gaining firsthand insight into ICT workplace environments

Additionally, interactive sessions focused on career planning, communication skills, and personal development

core components of the program’s well-rounded training model

Nationwide Reach and Gender Inclusion

Eng Mahmoud Sofrata, Vice President of ITIDA, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to nationwide

digital inclusion, noting that 40% of participants were female students, with efforts underway to further

increase female participation in future editions He also announced that outstanding students received

additional scholarships in areas such as Languages Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)

ITIDA Program Impact So Far

Since its launch in June 2025, the program has trained 6,125 students, distributed as follows

Greater Cairo: 2,220

Delta and Northern Egypt: 2,785

Upper Egypt: 905

Canal Region: 215

An additional 4,000 students are currently enrolled, ensuring the program stays on track to meet

its 10,000-student target

This national initiative is a core component of MCIT’s strategy to transform Egypt into a regional

and global hub for ICT services and digital offshoring By investing in next-generation talent, Egypt

is strengthening its position in the global market and creating high-value job opportunities for its youth
